While replacement windows and insulation could be tackled at a later time to defer costs, it is in the best long-term interest of the property that these items be addressed at the same time as siding replacement. This will allow new-construction windows to be used rather than replacement windows. It will also allow window trim to be replaced in a manner that is best for esthetics and water-proofness.
Over the years, various windows in the property have been replaced ad hoc as they were broken or deteriorated. There is a wide range of age and type of window currently installed in the house. A standard will be defined as to the type of window needed moving forward. A survey of all windows will be taken to deterine if they meet that standard. Any window not meeting that standard will be replaced during the siding project. This will ensure the best window fit and further secure the longevity of the siding moving forward.
As the siding is removed from the house, a detailed plan for adding insulation will be created based upon the findings. Insulation will be added prior to the new siding being added.
